Getting There

Flying

Should you choose to fly, there are three airports within a short drive of St. Simon’s.  Brunswick (GA) is the closest of the three while Jacksonville (Fl) and Savannah/Hilton Head are often better options as they offer more flights to choose from.

Post-Landing, Transportation

Two options here… Rent a car or call Max. Max transportation is a local company who offers very reasonable fares from all airports to the Island.  If you can share a ride with other guests, the fares become even more reasonable.  To arrange for airport pickup:

Max Transportation
(912) 634-7749

Renting a car is another option and rentals are available from all airports.  Rates seem to be reasonable and good deals can be found on Expedia, Hotwire, Orbitz and Priceline.  Each guest doesn’t need a car so it’s a good idea to share a rental with other guests.   See driving directions from airports below.

Airport Info

Brunswick Golden Isles Airport (BRQ)

Jacksonville International Airport (JIA)

Located 18 miles north of downtown Jacksonville, Florida, the airport is only an hour and 15 minute drive to St. Simon’s.

Directions: From JIA, take I-95 north to Exit 29. At the bottom of the ramp, merge right on US Highway 17 North. Continue past the Jekyll Island Causeway, crossing the suspension bridge - approximately eight miles - and merge right on the FJ Torres Causeway to St. Simons Island.
